Deep Into the Night (Published by THE DANA LITERARY SOCIETY, Winter, 2002)

Ghastly form so very strange is
taking flight, it rearranges
forms before me, making changes
deep into the night.

At the darkness, staring wide eyed,
I hear voices from the inside.
Flashing language breaks the dark side
deep into the night.

I freeze and feel my muscles tightening.
Sweating, while it gets more frightening,
thunderous sounds bring bolts of lightening
deep into the night.

With resolve, though horrifying,
this, the bed in which I’m lying,
will be where I shall be dying
deep into the night.
