among all of the pens
          with which i write
          the one with no name
is my favorite

among all of the cups
          from which i drink
          the cup that stands
          naked on no legs is
the most interesting

among all of the shoes
          that i wear
          the pair that laugh
          uncontrollably out
          loud at the ground
are the leaders of the pack

among all of the skies that
          i have seen
          the sky which covered me
          in new mexico shines
          brighter feels newer
          stands taller and
is the one i would choose
