Head Lights and Red Lights

Freeways aren’t free.
It’s x-mas time.
Pollution kisses intentions.
Money waits.
Impatience liberates.
Sudden, swift attack.
Wearisome words waltz wittingly without care.
Automobiles weave
like threads
for a seamstress.

Where are we going?
Where have we been?
Lights shine
into wide eyes,
as time runs out.

Hs birth,
his life,
his death
contorted into
head lights
red lights.
