studied like a frog
in college biology class.

serial killer.

Memories draped darkness
living in your
head’s hall of horrors.

You obtained
elementary violation education,
the thrill of pain,
from an abusive uncle.

Your respectable
parental pillars of society
crumbled in intimate proximity
to your young vision.

Convenient infirmity propelled a
new vehicle of visions.
Sterilization,
masks,
lights,
cleansing knife
all sparked painful curiosity
of your inner self.

You befriended Death.
You penetrated incognizant innocents,
silencing the beating of wings,
created creature carnivals,
each member’s member
an amusement ride.
Commanded, controlled.
This was your inaugural sweet taste of power.

Paltry pets’
negligible knowledge
soon bored you.
You cultivated, nurtured
overwhelming ravenous hunger
with your blistered brain.
You were deception
cloaked in harmonious hues,
mellifluous melodies.

You wielded smooth smiles,
blandishment,
like a key to locked hearts.

Melding with muddled, morose mind,
your circle of friends swelled to seventeen.
You choked on companionship.

You spawned a river of tears.
Your emotions
predeceased your person
as you were inscribed into infamy.
