Let Me

Rude thoughts,
the uninvited guests,
race through my mind
when I can
least host them.
Go away,
rude thoughts.
Leave me alone.

Baseless fears
conquer my body
when I thought calm
was my blanket.
Leave me,
fright,
let me live
within my lie.

Grass and dirt
become my malaise.
I can not walk
with my chin parallel
to the ground.
Let me rise,
cruel darkness.
Allow me
to look up.

Odorless gas
infiltrates my lungs.
Colorless fog
overtakes my life.
I drift
to the unknown.
Let me sleep,
quiet moment,
let me sleep.
