Loneliness
A feeling came quite late last night,
with all things wrong and nothing right.
Emptiness lay next to me
and filled the space where you should be.
There was no breathing, soft and sweet,
no silent sighs, so incomplete.
The only noise that did sustain
was thunder and the pelting rain.
Absence mocked me as my mate.
She magnified my lonely state,
as if it was her vile scheme
to incapacitate my dream.
Days crawl slowly, nights last long,
time moves ever strangely wrong.
Rapture will replace this gloom
when, once again, you grace this room.
