Nature's Fortune
The river dies.
The bluebird flies.
The ozone hides
the sunny skies.
The forests burn.
We take our turn
to show that we
will never learn.
The rabbits run.
The blazes stun
all Nature’s life
beneath the sun.
The end will come
and life will hum
the final dirge
with dying drum.
