If Susan was the ocean,
I'd swim forever in the
warm, blue waters. I'd sometimes
wade near shore, for fear

that I would break the beauty
and dip too deeply and too
often below the surface. Her
mind is a clear carpet of ocean water.

If Susan was the sky, the
top of Nature's commune, I'd,
for always, turn my eyes
upward. And birds would be

happier to fly free, unhampered
by people's piston poisons put
beside them. Her mind is clear
as the ancient sky's history.

If Susan was all of earth,
grasping entirety with her
outstretched fingers, war would
be fictional folly. Sadness

could not be conceivable in
any way. Her mind is free,
as earth was once free of the
sorrowful song which it sings.

Susan is all of love. I was
unaware that the earth and water
and sky were Nature's gifts to me.
Those good gifts-I see them now.
