Sonnet #6-The Passion

By now, our body’s passion has become
as hot as Texas’ burning summer’s sun.
This raging heat I’ve grasped a feeling from.
This year, in truth, will finally be the one
when you and I, together, will commit
to never part and go our separate ways
and we will build a bond that’s infinite.
A fiery frenzy fills our summer days
as we morph and become one entity.
The flowing sweat is so intense and sweet.
There’s only us, no longer you and me.
We’ve come so far we never can retreat.
Oh, why does awful fear upon me cast
dark shadows of our many failures passed?
