When Speech Becomes Beauty
The guitar strings vibrate
as I move
the pick across them.
The vibration
produces harmonic hues.
I hear the words
that are not there,
sad sounds.
The lonely chords
cry for companionship,
a melodic friend
to prop up proudly.
A melody
meets the modulation.
A friendship ensues.
The alliance is music.
Melody can persevere,
live for eternity.
Poetry possesses parallel powers
of its own.
Ah,
but when poetry
marries with melody and modulation,
speech becomes beauty.
